It is the act of donating -- not the amount -- that counts.
Donations are necessary to generate some funds for campaign operations and, more importantly, to attract the attention of news media.
There are so many ways to donate:

For larger donations, Anedot is a good choice as it is designed to help comply with campaign finance rules and offers PayPal, Google Pay, and credit card options;
The PayPal/Venmo/PayLater buttons at the bottom of this page work well but charge the campaign high fees.
